
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Course objectives
By the end of TransformEd’s training in CCS, you will be able to:
- Elucidate the flow of health information within departments of a facility and provide an overview of the payment systems
- Define the roles and responsibilities of a coder and coding guidelines in both inand out-patient facilities
- Discuss the steps of health-record documents interpretation with the participant’s knowledge of
anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, and medical terminology - Define reimbursement methodologies and documentation rules and regulations
- Acquire knowledge and skills and practice questions to pass the CCS examination administered by AHIMA

- Medical Coding Professionals
- Minimum 2 years of coding experience OR CCA/CPC certified with 1 yr coding experience
